EURO INSOL brings at Bucharest the 45th World Conferenc of WORLD TRADE CENTER
During 01-04 October 2013, a Bucharest delegation led by Ph.D Remus Borza attended the Annual Autumn Meeting of WTC Association Board in New York gathering more than 330 WTC associations of all over the world. It was a great opportunity to visit the new headquarters of WTC located in One World Trade Center Building, rebuilt following the destruction of the original World Trade Center, the former location of the Twin Towers destroyed during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The 104 floors building, formerly known as the Freedom Tower, is the tallest construction in New York, its spire reaching a symbolic height of 542 meters.
During the conference, it has been agreed the agenda of the 45th General Meeting of World Trade Center, meeting which will be held at Bucharest between April 25th-30th, 2014, the organizers inform in a press release. Next year, World Trade Center will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
About 500 delegates representing 330 organizations of 108 countries plan to attend the conference held at Bucharest this being a great opportunity to promote Romanian image and economical interests. At the debates on the topic “The New Economic Order and The Role of World Trade Center” are expected to join people from Romanian banking, economic and political fields, diplomats, presidents of multinational companies, officials of foreign delegations, Nobel’s winners. The conference will be held under the auspices of the Prime-Minister of Romania, Victor Ponta.
The debates and the events related to this conference will be located in various places such as World Trade Center Bucharest, Hotel Pullman, Place of Parliament, Romanian Athenaeum, Bran Castle, Peles Palace.
In 2003, World Trade Center Bucharest applied to hold the annual conference from 2004 but failed in front of WTC Shanghai. For 2014, the opponent was WTC Manila.
The insolvency proceeding against World Trade Center Bucuresti SA has been opened in 2011 and Euro Insol has been appointed as judicial administrator. The request was lodged by the debtor as a result of its incapacity to pay the due debts of more than 294 million lei as compared to the turnover of only 39 million lei. Its main creditors are Fondul Proprietatea – 236 million lei and Municipiul Bucuresti – 57 million lei.
The company controls the activity of the 4* Pullman Hotel which has 203 rooms, the conference hall with 10 versatile rooms, World Trade Plaza, 11.000 sq. of office spaces, 3.500 sq. of trade galleries and 2.000 sq. of restaurants.
On 02.07.2013, Euro Insol appointed Cristina Chiriac to be the new general director of WTCB after Mircea Ursache was appointed vice-president of the Administration of Fiscal Surveillance (ASF).
