Henkel C Ceresit, the division producing building materials of the German group and at the same time one of the most important players in the specialized market in Romania will open in spring 2013 a factory in Roznov (Neamt county), a project with an investment of 10 million euro. Located 15 km far from Piatra Neamt, the future factory in Roznov will be inaugurated in April. Henkel has already started recruiting personnel. About 70 specialists will be hired.

Works at the factory have been completed and we are doing production tests. We will create 72 new jobs and recruiting is under way. We already have half of the necessary labour force,” C.Albert Sutru, operation manager of Henkel division in Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, declared for Wall Street.ro

The overall investment at Henkel amounts to 10 million euro, 30% of the value being obtained from European funds. The future facility will have an area of 36,000 sq.m and a production capacity of up to 200,000 tons/ year.

The 3 million euro coming from European funds were used to build the production area and to purchase equipment, while the rest of the money represented costs for the land, devices, offices and company utilities,” Sutru said.

In spring this year AdePlast, the company owned by Marcel Barbut will inaugurate a factory for building materials in Roman, an investment of 10 million euro.Henkel completed the project for power efficiency boost within the Pantelimon factory worth 3.4 million lei (770,000 euro) which had in view to modify the sand drying technology. The project, carried out over March 2012 – February 2013 benefitted from a grant of 929,929 lei (200,000 euro) and was co- financed through the European Regional Development Fund.

The main objectives of the project suppose to cut off at least 10% of the gross power consumption during the technological process of sand drying needed for adhesive manufacture and the reduction of the average share of maintenance expenses for dryers under 10% in the first 5 years following the implementation of the investment.

There are over 120 employees in the Ilfov factory.

The crisis has seriously affected sales on the B2B sector (business-to-business), which recorder a 10% drop between 1008 and 2012.While in 2008 the sale share in the B2B design area was about 20% in 2012 it dropped to 10%.The explanation was, according to Henkel, the drop of the volume of new buildings and the national thermal insulation program fro homes which led to business reorientation.

At present, Ceresit incomes is represented 55% by distributors, 35% through the Do-it-yourself shop network and B2B projects (10%).

According to Henkel, the adhesive market has grown to 130 million euro in 2012, adhesives for tiles representing half of the value.

The main Henkel competitors for building materials are AdePlast, Baumit and Duraziv.
