Monsson Group Romania has expanded into 20 countries, reaching 500 employees on four continents

Monsson Group, one of the leaders of the renewable energy market in Romania, has expanded into 20 countries over the last two years, now employing about 500 specialised people across four continents. So far, Monsson Group has invested over 200 million euros in the construction and operation of photovoltaic and wind farms.

We decided to strongly expand internationally after the renewable energy industry in Romania ground to a halt. The lack of new projects made us review and reconsider our investment plans rather promptly. The expansion process was supported by the group’s know-how, as we had developed enough and we had been involved in major energy projects, which made us confident that we can deliver services at the same quality level anywhere in the world”, said Sebastian Enache, Business Development Manager at Monsson Group.

The investment in the international expansion has cost us quite a lot so far, but we are prepared to continue this process, considering the expansion of our services as well as the expansion of the external markets”, Sebastian Enache added.

This way, Monsson Group is currently operating in Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, New Zealand and Asia, leaving its status as a developer to become an integrator of complex energetic solutions, and in most cases the activities aim to perform major projects of desalination powered by renewable energy sources.

Founded in 1997, Monsson Group has focused on renewable energy since 2004, and has rapidly become a major wind farm developer in the Romanian market, with more than 2,400 MW projects in its portfolio, out of which projects of over 1,000 MW are already constructed and operating.

The most famous project developed by Monsson Group and built by CEZ is the Fantanele-Cogealac 600 MW park, at that time the second largest onshore wind farm project in the world, after the USA.
