Ambassador Zupancic: Slovenia consider participation in the operationalisation of the Multinational Brigade in Romania's southern Craiova
Minister of National Defence Gabriel Les welcomed on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Defence Ministry, the Ambassador of Slovenia in Bucharest, Mihael Zupancic, the Romanian official emphasising the importance of relaunching the high level political-military dialogue between the two countries, both bilaterally as well as within NATO and the EU.
"Mihael Zupancic acknowledged the importance of the practical military cooperation at the armed forces categories' level, in the regional organizations and in the operations theaters. He also highlighted the good level of cooperation among the NATO centres of excellence of the two countries, respectively the HUMINT Centre in Romania and the Slovenian Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence," reads a press release of MapN.
According to the source, the Romanian minister reiterated the demand that Slovenia consider participation in the operationalisation of the Multinational Brigade in Romania's southern Craiova.
"The Slovenian Ambassador stressed the importance that his country attaches to the development of cooperation relations between the two countries' armed forces and has expressed interest in identifying new areas for developing military cooperation, such as participation in multinational exercises carried on Romania territory," the statement says.
Minister Gabriel Les sent an invitation to his Slovenian counterpart to pay an official visit to Romania in the second half of this year.
