Code Yellow advisory of heavy snowfalls, blizzards, icy roads for all over the country

Meteorologists have issued a Code Yellow advisory of heavy snowfalls, blizzards and icy roads for all over the country as of February 3, for three days.

Thus, from February 3, 10:00 am to February 5, 08:00 pm, in all areas of the country, starting from south-west, there will be heavy snowfalls, blizzard and wind gusts of up to 60 kmh, especially in south and south-east. In mountain areas, there will be wind gusts of up to 90 kmh, blizzards and the new snow layer will exceed 20 cm.

Moreover, the specialists of the National Meteorology Administration ANM inform that, in south-east areas, the precipitation will become sleet and rain, which will lead to icy roads.

Currently, the Code Orange of freezing temperatures is in effect, which was issued by ANM on January 30, and which expires on February 3, most likely in the first half of the day. The Code Orange of below-zero temperatures covers 37 counties in Moldavia, Wallachia, Oltenia, Transylvania, Maramures, Dobrogea provinces and Bucharest.
