Favourable report in Senate for government decision 9/2017 allowing unlimited expenses
The Senate Labour Commission released a favourable report on Tuesday, for the law approving government decision 9/2017, criticised for eliminating budget expenses of public authorities as well as sanctions provided by the Public finance law, following the rejection of the opposition National Liberal Party (PNL) amendment, backed by the Save Romania Union (USR, opposition) and the People's Movement Party (PMP, opposition).
Government decision 9/2017 includes an article by which a series of provisions referring to engaged credits in law 500/2002 on public finances are suspended until January 1, 2018. They also include the obligation that amounts of money engaged by Budget Law cannot be exceeded, while expenses from these budgets should be made only in the limits of approved budgets.
The law approving decision 9 will reach the final vote in Senate.
Raluca Turcan, the temporary PNL president, declared on Monday that the party she is head of made a request with the Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies for prime minister Sorin Grindeanu’s hearing in Parliament on March 6 on emergency orders 6 and 9 which, in the liberals’ opinion are as serious and order 13, but with economic impact.
