IGI and Embassy of French Republic in Bucharest sign convention on cooperating in combating illegal immigration
Deputy General Inspector of the General Inspectorate for Immigrations (IGI) Iordache Paun and Ambassador of the French Republic in Bucharest Philippe Gustin on Wednesday, in Bucharest, signed the convention on cooperating in combating illegal migration, whose aim is to continue the exchange of experience and good practices in preventing and combating illegal migration as well as strengthening the cooperation between the two institutions.
On the basis of the above-mentioned convention they will carry out such activities as joint working meetings between the representatives of the signatories of the cooperation convention with a view to identifying the best solutions for cooperation in combating illegal immigration, exchange of experience by presenting the best practices, standards and procedures that can be applied to the field of the convention, supplying expertise by the French participants in the field of migration.
This opportunity resulted as a consequence of the missions the experts of the Central Directorate of the Border Police of the French Republic carried out at the IGI central and territorial headquarters over March 1-May 18, 2012.
The document mentioned before is the result of the good cooperation between the two institutions, which thus shape a new important stage referring to the migration policy at national and community level.
