Mevlut Cavusoglu urged in Bucharest for finding a peaceful solution to end the conflict in Syria

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic Mevlut Cavusoglu on Tuesday urged in Bucharest for finding a peaceful solution to end the conflict in Syria.

"I urge everyone who can make his/her voice heard to raise against this regime in Syria, in order to identify a peaceful solution. Our proposal is very clear: let's stop this fight or this civil war and if the situation still keeps us worried, let's work together to eliminate it! Why should we kill so many civilians, thousands of children and women, why should we bomb schools and hospitals and civilians? If this situation worries us, the solution is simple: let's work together! We are ready to cooperate with Russia, France, UK and USA, with all the partners and actors in Syria," Cavusoglu stated at the Diplomatic Club, at the press conference he held jointly with the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodor Melescanu, after the trilateral meeting Romania, Poland and Turkey.

The Turkish ForMin, who answered to all the questions of the journalists, claimed that the Syrian regime "believes in a military solution."

"First of all, the situation in Syria, in general, concerns us all. We worked together with other countries, with international support groups, in order to identify the best solution. But the regime and its supporters believe in a military solution. Although we invested a lot of effort in the territory, in the country, and we tried to stop the attacks and bloodshed, unfortunately, these attacks continue. On behalf of Turkey I can say that we collaborated with everybody, and especially with Russia and Iraq, at bilateral and trilateral level, to stop this situation and to find a peaceful solution, which is important in order to reach an agreement. We support all these," concluded the Turkish ForMin.
