PRIA Women in Agriculture Gala and PRIA Agriculture Conference, spring's most important event for agriculture

The ladies in Romanian agriculture were awarded during PRIA Women in Agriculture Gala, held at Bucharest National Theatre.

"I am glad I have the opportunity to congratulate the ladies who work in agriculture. Agriculture, as many of you know, is not an easy activity. The work that you've chosen needs all the more appreciation, ladies, who want to work in an area so important to this country and, often, unfortunately, not appreciated at the level it should be appreciated. I'm happy there are also young people. I have the opportunity and surprise to reward a young woman working in agriculture, I understand with very good results. (...) I am glad that in terms of agriculture, things are going at times, at a faster pace, at other times, at a slower pace, but the trend of Romanian agriculture is certainly growing. I think we entered a positive trajectory once Romania joined the European Union in 2007, at least as regards the agricultural sector, and I am glad to see that there are many business that were started by business people in the past and which today are taken on by the youth and carried forward ", the Deputy PM and Minister of Environment, Daniel Constantin declared on Monday.

He awarded the "Young farmer" prize to Aurora Elena Graeven Enachescu — manager of SC Pyac SRL Slatina — "for her enthusiasm and plans for growth and development".

During the Gala, were also awarded Profira Onoda, an economist in agriculture, executive director of the Growers' Association of Cereals and Technical Plants Galati, for lifetime achievement, but also for the professionalism showed in supporting the farmers in the county, Maricica Vrabie, general manager at Hort Altoi Focsani Vrancea, for her work in agriculture and for the wide variety of agricultural products that she manages, Denisa Geanina Pintilie, manager at Geo & Costi Agrostar, Ganeasa commune, Ilfov county, for proving that many barriers can be overcome thanks to the will and involvement, thus managing to implement successful projects with European funds, Maria Huprich, administrator at SC Autodomus SA, Reghin, Targu Mures, because she demonstrated that "through will, courage, devotion and sincerity" one can develop a business in agriculture.

Dr. Eng. Maria Pacurean, scientist at the National Institute for Agricultural Research and Development Fundulea, was awarded for a lifetime achievement in the field of research, especially for her work on improving sunflower, Nicoleta Zaina shareholder in Agri Sol, Belciugatele commune, Calarasi county, for the diversity of the portfolio she manages in agriculture, for seriousness and professionalism, Emilia Ionita, manager of Transmim Agriculture, for her toughness and reliability in the management of the company and her community involvement, Veronica Toncea, president / CEO of the Rural credit Guarantee Fund — FGCR, for the lifetime achievement in the field of agriculture and excellent results in such an important sector as agriculture, and Irina Florea, executive director Apples from Itesti, for creating a healthy Romanian brand that supports and promotes a healthy life style.

Awards were granted to Eugenia Dragnea, executive director of the League of Associations of Agricultural Producers in Romania — LAPAR for her determination and effort in supporting farmers, members of LAPAR — a representative organization of the Romanian agricultural sector, and Monika Puiu, president APIMAR / CEO of NHR Agropartners for leadership in agriculture.

PRIA Gala — Women in Agriculture accompanied PRIA Agriculture Conference, spring's most important event for agriculture, which was a real platform for discussions between farmers, authorities and companies which conduct their activity in this sector.

PRIA Agriculture brought together 250 participants, including: representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, of the Agency for Payments and Intervention for Agriculture and the Agency for Financing Rural Investment, representatives of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry — ASAS, agricultural research institutes, members of Pro Agro, LAPAR but also other important associations such as the Great Commercial Networks Association in Romania, Romalimenta, Rompan, the Romanian Employers' Association of Dairy — APRIL, the Romanian Association of meat etc, representatives of the Chambers of Commerce, producers of grain or manufacturers of herbicides, pesticides and agricultural chemicals, World Bank, banks in Romania, of insurance companies, societies of leasing, investment funds, guarantee funds and counter guarantee funds; consultants, IT services and solutions companies as well as the specialty media.
