Romania's exports of electric power increase 122.4 percent in first seven months
Romania's exports of electric power were 1.999 billion KWh in the first seven months of this year, up by 1.1 billion KWh, namely 122.4 percent, from the similar time span of last year, according to the data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The final consumption of electric power in this period was 30.461 billion KWh, up by 4 percent from the same span of time in 2010. Public lighting went down by 14.8 percent and the population's consumption went up by 3 percent.
The technological consumption in grids and stations slightly topped 4 billion KWh, up by 123.7 billion KWH, that is, 3.2 percent.
The electric power resources were 36.470 billion KWh, up by 2.402 billion KWh (7.1 percent) from the same time span in 2010. The growth of the resources of electric power was mainly due to the 2.585 billion KWh (7.7 percent) growth of the production.
The output of thermoelectric power stations was 18.399 billion KWh, up by 2.921 billion KWh (18.9 percent). The output of hydroelectric power stations was 10.641 billion KWh, down by 1.013 billion KWh (8.7 percent) and the one of the nuclear electric power stations was 6.672 billion KWh, up by 234.9 million KWh (3.6 percent).
In the first seven months of this year the output of the wind power stations was 441.8 million KWh, up by 440.4 million KWh from the same time span of last year.
Primary energy resources increased by 5.5 percent and the electric power ones grew by 7.1 percent in the first seven months of this year from the similar time span of last year.
The main primary energy resources totalled 20.56 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), up by 1.666 million toe from January-July 2010.
The domestic output amounted to 13.638 million toe, up by 4.1 percent from the same time span of the previous year and imports were 6.923 million toe, up by 8.3 percent.
