TRENDS IN THE EVOLUTION OF THE ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN THE PERIOD FEBRUARY – APRIL 2021

Manufacturing

 

According to the business tendency survey of February 2021, managers from manufacturing forecast a moderate growth of the production volume for the next three months (balance +9%).

 

The activities that will register the most important increases are the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and the manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products (balances +32%).

 

Regarding the number of employees, a relative stability is estimated, the balance being -2% per total manufacturing. For the prices of industrial products, a moderate growth is forecasted for the next three months (balance +10%).

 

Construction

 

According to February 2021 estimations, there will be a moderate growth in the production volume of the construction activity for the next three months (balance +12%). Managers forecast a relative stability in the number of employees (balance +4%). As to the prices of construction works, a moderate growth is forecasted (balance +14%).

 

Retail trade

 

In the retail trade sector, managers estimate a moderate increasing trend in the economic activity for the next three months (balance +11%). The volume of orders placed by the trade units to the suppliers of goods will grow (balance +20%). Employers forecast a moderate growth in the number of employees for the next three months (balance +7%). For the next period, managers of trade companies estimate a moderate growth of the retail prices (balance +14%).

 

Services

 

According to February 2021 estimations, the demand for services (turnover) will register a moderate decrease for the next three months (balance -13%). For the services sector, a moderate decrease is estimated in the number of employees (balance -11%). According to the managers, the selling or invoice prices of provisions will register a moderate decreasing trend (balance -9%).
