Young people from 25 countries to visit Romania under 'Discover Romania beyond Dracula' project
Young people from 25 countries will be visiting Romania under a project called 'Discover Romania beyond Dracula,' to be unfolded July 20 - August 31, organisers AIESEC Romania reported in a press release issued on Wednesday.
There are 60 young people coming from Canada, Brazil, Belarus, Germany, Greece, Albania, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Lebanon, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Taiwan. The project will be conducted concomitantly in three implementation zones: Zone 1: Arad, Craiova, Oradea, Timisoara; Zone 2: Bucharest, Constanta, Galati, Iasi, Pitesti, and Zone 3: Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Targu Mures.
The 'Discover Romania beyond Dracula' project is funded by Romania's Ministry of Tourism and Sports and it is designed to improve the picture of Romania in the world and at home among young people by promoting culture and the national heritage and by encouraging volunteerism among young people.
AIESEC representatives will organise, July 20-23, professional training sessions for international young people that comprise journalism, blogging, photography, picture and video editing and social media. They will come up with article for personal blogs and also for the national blog of AIESEC Romania, the Facebook and Twitter social networks, along with radio and television reportages to keep friends in the home countries abreast of the experiences lived in Romania.
July 24 - August 17, young people from abroad will go on fact-finding visits to AIESEC branch cities (Arad, Craiova, Oradea, Timisoara, Bucharest, Constanta, Galati, Iasi, Pitesti, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu and Targu Mures), in the countryside and the environs as well as to well-known travel areas.
In August 18-20, the young people will compile site data (texts, pictures and video clips) into press materials to be disseminated via social networks and blogs, while on August 21, the pictures taken by the international young people will be displayed in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara. On August 23, a Global Village event will be held on the Back Sea coast designed to promote volunteerism among young people and professional internship in Romania and abroad.
