Rovana Plumb insists on declassification of files on Rosia Montana
Environment and Forestry Minister Rovana Plumb insists on the declassification of the files on Rosia Montana as it is about a natural resource belonging to the Romanian state and, implicitly, to Romanians, and therefore, transparency is needed in this situation.
'I am waiting for the official and public position of Rosia Montana Gold Corporation. The existing legislation concerning the declassification does not require any amendments, the company must make proof of good will and, in this respect, we are waiting for the answer on the agreement to sign an additional act, through which the exploitation license should be declassified,' Minister Rovana Plumb said in Giurgiu, on Tuesday.
She pointed out that it was not important that the Cabinet members or the relevant minister knew the content of the exploitation license, but it was important that the public knew the content of this document.
'It is about a natural resource, a mineral resource belonging to the Romanian state, therefore, implicitly, to Romanians, and for this reason I insist on this declassification, in order to be transparent,' Rovana Plumb underscored.
