BNR to connect to Target 2 euro payment system on July 4

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) is to launch the euro payment system Target 2 Romania on July 4, the national component of the European euro payment system Target 2, used for central banks discount and large-value inter-bank transfers, Razvan Vartolomei, director within BNR, told the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Wednesday. He said BNR would be the 24th central bank connected to Target 2 whereas 22 credit institutions would take part in the system in Romania for the start. ...
