The value of deposits in foreign banks' branches in Romania registered a 2.1 percent decline at the end of Q4 of 2011, but overall it witnessed a 3.7 percent increase, up to 309.4 billion lei, the highest level in the past few years, informs the Deposit Guarantee Fund in the Banking System (FGDB).The number of guaranteed depositors in the records of the crediting institutions participating in the Fund registered a first enhancement, after a two-year contraction period.
