Canadians from CGI open first consulting and development centre in software field in Romania


CGI, a Canadian company and the fifth independent world actor in the field of IT services, announces the opening of its first consulting and development centre in the field of software in Bucharest, Romania, where 300 specialists will be hired in the next three years. The centre, which will serve exclusively French customers of CGI, will be included in the existing network of production centres from France, Spain and Morocco.

By setting up this centre, CGI will answer demands of its French customers by supplying digital services observing international quality standards.

“By opening this new centre, CGI wants to support its clients’ growing demand in the field of digital transformation, through a centre able to ensure services in French in a EU country,” the company informed.

Based in Bucharest, the centre will supply expert appraisal in the field of assistance and maintenance for applicative software solutions based on a series of technologies (Java, DotNet, BI) as well as on its experience in implementing systems.

CGI will hire 300 people until 2021, of whom 100 will be hired this year. Positions of developers, analysts, project managers, solution consultants will be available in the Bucharest centre.
