The idea of a business forum Romanian-Uzbek, discussed in a meeting with Bogdan Aurescu

 The State Secretary for strategic affairs in the ministry of foreign affairs (MFA) Bogdan Aurescu received on Tuesday the chairman of the Commission for Foreign Policy of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbek,Sadik Safaev with whom he discussed about the idea of a business forum Romanian –Uzbek, informs a press release of MFA. The guest, former minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbek (1993, 2003-2005) pays a visit to Romania accompanied by a parliamentary delegation.



MFA mentions that the state secretary Bogdan Aurescu underlined the very good level of the political relations and showed the necessity for bilateral economic relations to reach a comparable level which could match the cooperation potential. He spoke about the very good results of the visit of the prime-minister of Romania Victor Ponta in Taskent (28-29 June) menat to lead to the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation on several levels.



The state secretary Bogdan Aurescu mentioned the importance of cooperation between the two states together with other actors interested in the region, to create the transport corridor for goods between Central Asia and Europe through the Black Sea and the Constanta port, thus insuring the link with Europe through the Danube.



Moreover, they approached topics of interest on the international agenda with focus on the regional situation including the crisis in Ukraine and the consequences at regional level, the situation in Afghanistan in the context of stopping the ISAF mission and of the initiation of the mission Resolute Support, the perspective for 2014 and the role of the region of Central Asia in this context.
