Varujan Vosganian: the negotiations for the Oltchim privatisation will start this week with companies from Israel, Turkey, Romania and the former Soviet states

The negotiations for the privatisation of Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea will start this week, with companies from Israel, Turkey, Romania and the former Soviet states, Varujan Vosganian said in a conference where he made a short presentation of his activity as a minister of economy. Vosganian also said that in September, the losses of the unit were considerably reduced, after the month of August when Oltchim had losses of almost 700,000 euro.

‘In any case, the fact that when it was taken over in February Oltchim was dying, now Oltchim is still alive, increased its turnover two times and a half, has no more losses and in a discussion with the representatives in the domain of supervision we concluded that Oltchim could be financed through banks and, according to my opinion, it is a big success of the management that the ministry made’ Varujan Vosganian said.

We remind you that Varujan Vosganian announced on Monday night he resigned from the position of minister of economy and the prime minister Victor Ponta accepted it. ‘ I took this decision not to affect the functioning of the government’ Vosganian said. USL sources stated for HotNews.ro that Vosganian took the decision after the request of premier Victor Ponta.

We remind you that the Senate plenary voted on Monday afternoon against the request of the prosecutors to admit to the starting of the criminal investigation against Vosganian in the file of national economy undermining and the preference offered to InterAgro against Romgaz.
Traian Basescu said that Vosganian’s resignation is a ‘ thing of common sense’.

But Varujan Vosganian keeps his immunity, as he is still a senator so that they cannot initiate a criminal investigation in his case.

Victor Ponta did not want to comment on Vosganian’s statements, by saying :’ I honestly was very satisfied with the activity of all ministers including Mr.Vosganian’.
