ANOFM: the rate of unemployment – 5.11% in September
The number of unemployed dropped by 2,043 in September against August, reaching 461,822 and the rate of unemployment was of 5.11% the counties with most people without a work place being Vaslui, Teleorman, Mehedin?i and Buz?u announced on Wednesday the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM).
The rate of unemployment in September of 5,11 percent dropped by 0.02 percentage points against August and by 0.38 percentage ponts against the same period of the previous year, according to the data recorded by the ANOFM.
‘The number of unemployed recorded in the files of county agencies for employment at the end of September was 461,822 people, with 2,043 people fewer than at the end of the previous month’ ANOFM said.
The counties with the highest rates of unemployment are: Vaslui (10,57 %), Teleorman (10,14 %), Mehedin?i (9,83 %), Buz?u (9,59 %), Gala?i (8,73 %), Dolj (8,71 %), Olt (7,89 %), Dâmbovi?a (7,45 %), followed by Gorj (7,38 la %) and Giurgiu (7,28 %).
The rate of unemployment for men dropped in September against August from 5.49 , 5.44% and the rate of unemployment for women was constant, at 4.72%.
The highest level of unemployed was recorded in the group of 40 – 49 (120,804 people) and 30 -39 (94,723 people). Another 87,880 unemployed are under 25, 66,079 are over 55, 57,802 are between 50 and 55 and 34,534 are between 25 and 29.
When referring to the structure of unemployment according to the level of education, the unemployed without education and those with primary level of education, secondary and vocational are the most numerous in the total of unemployed recorded in the registers of county agencies for employment (71,20 percent). The unemployed with highschool and further education are 22.33% out of the total of unemployed and those with higher education are 6.47%.
ANOFM mentioned that the rate of unemployment recorded in September was calculated by using the active population on 1 January 2014. The active civilian population is communicated by ANOFM to INSSE every year, usually after September.
The active civilian population at national level dropped on 1 January 2014, against January 2013 by 20,500 people, from 9,063.400 tp 9.042.900. As a result, the rate of unemployment was recalculated taking into consideration the new active civilian population since the current year.
