Authorities expect Russia’s agreement for overflight by Bucharest-Beijing flight
The Bucharest-Beijing flight cannot be resumed as long as Russian authorities refuse a favorable answer for overflight, transport minister Ioan Rus said on Wednesday. “For Bucharest-Beijing flight the memorandum is signed by us and the Chinese, but we do not have a favorable answer from Russian authorities. As soon as we get it, things will go into the right direction,”said the minister.
He explained the accord was necessary because any other route supposed additional expenses and will not make the flight profitable. Deputy premier Liviu Dragnea declared in March, during a visit to China that resuming Tarom flights between Bucharest and Beijing would take place in June or July while sources from the company said they will start in August.
Tarom gave up the Bucharest-Beijing flight in 2003 for economic reasons.
