BNR's Voinea: Romania needs local entrepreneurs for sustainable development

Romania needs local entrepreneurs for sustainable development because without entrepreneurs we do not have innovation and without innovation there is no durable economic growth, said Liviu Voinea, deputy governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), at the event launching the exhibition “100 years of entrepreneurship in Romania.”

“To be an entrepreneur means to have ideas and have the courage to risk, to get involved. Romania needs local entrepreneurs to develop sustainably, their initiative spirit and appetite for risk, but they also need capital. The role of the financial sector steps in here, to connect entrepreneurship to credit, to finance the development of successful business. Without entrepreneurs we have no innovation and without innovation there is no durable economic growth. Without Romanian capital and without local initiative, an independent central bank, such as BNR, feels it cannot fully carry out its role,” Voinea said.

CITR Group inaugurated, on Tuesday, the exhibition “100 years of entrepreneurship in Romania”,where the public has access for two weeks, since September 27, at the Museum of the National Bank of Romania.
