Irmgard Sedler, director of the Kornwestheim Museum (Germany), donated on Thursday over one hundred items to the Sibiu-based National Brukenthal Museum, mostly woodcut engravings by artist Gert Fabritius, informs a release.

"The donation includes: 5 books, 9 graphic works — polychrome woodcut engravings made by Gert Fabritius to illustrate quotes from Moses, and an investigation portfolio with 91 printed replicas of Rembrandt masterpieces made at the Louvre Museum at the beginning of the 20th century, at the start of X-ray and infrared investigations on artworks. Attending the event was consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sibiu Judith Urban, who said that the donation comes to strengthen a long-term cooperation that has yielded some spectacular outcomes, between the experts of the National Brukenthal Museum and partner museums in Kornwestheim and Gundelsheim," reads the release. Irmgard Sedler underscored that the event is part of a string of donations she plans to make to the Brukenthal Museum.I've worked in this museum and I know its graphic art collections. There are years now that I set my mind to buying, restoring and donating whenever something comes up on the market of antiquities, said Irmgard Sedler.

At the end of 2014 the Sibiu-based museum received another rich donation from Germany, from the Vladimir and Eliza Cantaragiu family.
