Central bank keeps key interest rate at 7pct per annum
The Board of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) decided on Monday to keep the monetary policy rate at 7.00 percent per annum, the central banks informs in a press release.
The BNR Board also decided to leave unchanged the lending (Lombard) facility rate at 8.00 percent per annum and the deposit facility rate at 6.00 percent per annum, as well as to keep the existing levels of minimum reserve requirement ratios on both leu- and foreign currency-denominated liabilities of credit institutions.
The key interest rate has been unchanged since January last year, when the BNR raised the interest rate to 7 percent per annum from 6.75 percent per annum.
