CFA Romania foresees state budget deficit of 8.5 pct for current year

CFA Romania anticipates for 2020 a deficit of the state budget of 8.5 pct and an unemployment rate at the end of the year of 7.8 pct, according to a release of the organization, sent on Wednesday .

"During the poll for the month of April 2020 four additional questions were added, regarding the economic impact of the coronavirus: the largest part of responders (38.8 pct) anticipating that it will be powerfully felt until the first quarter of 2021; the deficit of the state budget anticipated for 2020: the average value of anticipations is of 8.5 pct; the evolution, in real terms of the GDP in 2020: the average value of anticipations is -4.0 pct; the unemployment rate at the end of 2020: the average value of anticipations is 7.9 pct," the release shows.

In what regards the EUR/RON exchange rate, around 90 pct of participants anticipate a depreciation of the RON in the coming 12 months (compared to the actual value). Thus the average value of anticipations for the 6 month horizon is 4.8989, while for the 12 month horizon the average value of the anticipated rate is 4.9424.

The anticipated rate of inflation for the 12 month horizon (June 2021/June 2020) recorded an average value of 3 pct.
