Citu: Romania is becoming competitive on the international market; exports increased by 3.9% in Q1
Prime Minister Florin Citu stated on Monday that Romania is becoming competitive on the international market, showing that, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), exports increased by 3.9% in Q1.
"We have taken the best measures from an economic point of view and it can be seen. Romania is becoming competitive on the international market. INS says that the period January 1 - March 31, 2021, exports increased by 3.9% and compared to March 2020, exports in March 2021 increased by 20.1%," Citu wrote on Monday on the Government's Facebook page.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, in the first three months of the year, FOB exports amounted to 17.719 billion euros, and CIF imports 23.046 billion euros. Exports increased by 3.9% and imports rose by 7.1% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2020.
In March, FOB exports amounted to 6.526 billion euros and CIF imports 8.782 billion euros, resulting in a deficit of 2.256 billion euros. Compared to March 2020, exports in March increased by 20.1% and imports by 20.6%, according to data published on Monday by INS.
