Decrees on Voinea's resignation, appointment of Valcov as budget minister, published in Official Journal
The decrees under which President Traian Basescu takes note of the resignation of Liviu Voinea as minister-delegate for budget and the appointment of Darius Valcov to replace Voinea were published on Wednesday in the Official Journal.
The two documents were signed the same day by the president prior to their publication.
The swear-in ceremony of Daru Valcov is scheduled for today at 18:00hrs, EEST, at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, according to the Presidential Administration.
Voinea resigned office after being elected by Parliament to the office of vice governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
Prime Minister Victor Ponta on August 19 submitted to President Basescu his recommendation for Valcov to take over the portfolio, after previously the President rejected the nomination of Claudiu Manda to the same office, on grounds that Manda was an inappropriate proposal.
Valcov is a senator of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), major at rule, and chairman of the Senate's Committee on Public Administration and Regional Planning.
