Defense Ministry's Secretary of State Simona Cojocaru made a Knight of the French National Order of Merit
The National Defense Ministry's Secretary of State for Defense Policy, Planning and International Relations Simona Cojocaru was presented on Monday with the knighthood insignia of the French National Order of Merit. French ambassador Laurence Auer handed her the honor in a ceremony held at the French Embassy, with Defense Minister Vasile Dincu and Chief of the Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu also attending.
The French ambassador praised the engagement of the Romanian Secretary of State in furthering bilateral dialogue as well as ties under the umbrella of international bodies.
You are one of the representatives of the Romanian authorities who, for years, has been very much engaged in favor of the strategic dialogue between our countries, during the Romanian EU Presidency, of the bilateral dialogue between the French and Romanian Defense Ministries and within international bodies. Thanks to your responsibilities in designing the defense and security policy, to your knowledge of the dimensions of multilateralism, you were able to establish the connection between Romania's policy within NATO and the development of the European foreign and security policy. For all this France is grateful to you and today I express to you the French Government's gratitude, said ambassador Auer.
In her turn, Defense Secretary of State Simona Cojocaru underlined the excellent French-Romanian defense cooperation, declaring herself honored by the distinction awarded to her, the cited release states.
