EC message after Dragnea accused Angela Cristea of sending lies to Brussels
The European Commission says that president Jean Claude Juncker appreciates the activity of the the head of the European Commission Delegation in Bucharest , Angela Cristea, in the context in which PSD ( social-democrat) leader Liviu Dragnea said he had shown the head of state the lies sent by her to European commissioners.
The Commission has closely monitored the parliamentary process in Romania, has been in contact with the Government and Parliament of Romania, as well as with the judicial system and civil society, within the Mechanism of Cooperation and Verification, Commission says în a statement.
PSD president Liviu Dragnea declared on Sunday that he had shown president Klaus Iohannis the lies sent by the head of the EC Delegation in Bucharest, Angela Cristea to all European commissioners and added that could not remain untaxed.
"I stayed after the oath taking ceremony, I believe for 10-12 minutes, (...) I showed the President the lies sent by the head of the European Commission Delegation in Bucharest, Angela Cristea, to all the European commissioners. The fresh lies speak, and I told him that I find it a gesture against the Romanian interests that cannot remain untaxed and untold. Today she is lying [the head of the European Commission Delegation in Bucharest] about the prime minister of Romania, maybe yesterday or the day after tomorrow about the president of Romania. She has always communicated about me, I know. I wish her great success and health,"president Dragnea told Romania TV.
