Euro trades at 4.1869 lei, a June-2010 low
The national leu currency appreciated against the European currency on Tuesday, with the National Bank of Romania announcing an exchange rate of 4.1869 lei to the euro, by 1.96 bani or 0.47 percent less than the previous session, when the euro traded at 4.2065 lei.
This is the lowest level in eight months, with a similar exchange rate of the euro having for the last time been recorded on June 3, 2010, when the European currency sold for 4.1864 lei.
The U.S. dollar gained against the leu, with the Central Bank establishing an exchange rate of 3.0071 lei, by 0.70 bani or 0.23 percent more on Monday's quotation of 3.0001 lei.
According to Agerpres, a gram of gold sold for 138.7001 lei on Tuesday, by 4.18 bani (0.03 pct) more than the 138.6583 lei set in the previous session.
