Eurostat:Romania ranks 3rd in EU by June increase in industrial producer prices

Greece, Sweden and Romania topped European Union rankings in terms of the increase recorded in industrial producer prices compared with the same period of 2013, in the context of a 0.8 per cent drop recorded by this indicator for the Eurozone and the European Union, show data published on Monday by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).

The highest increases in the industrial producer prices year-on-year were recorded by Greece (1.6 per cent), Sweden (0.7 per cent) and Romania (0.6 per cent), while the most significant decreases were recorded by Estonia (minus 6.6 per cent), Lithuania (minus 4.7 per cent) and Belgium (minus 4.5 per cent).

Compared with the previous month, the industrial output prices rose by 0.1 per cent in the EU28 and the Eurozone this June.

The largest monthly increase in industrial producer prices was registered in Spain (+0.9 per cent), Latvia (+0.6 per cent), Greece and Hungary (both +0.4 per cent), while the countries to see the steepest decreases were Lithuania (-0.9 per cent), Estonia (-0.8 per cent) and Denmark (-0.4 per cent).
