Exports  and  imports  increased  by  9.6%  and  by  12.4%,  respectively, în H1 of 2017

  • In  the  period  1.I?30.VI  2017,  the  FOB  exports amounted  to  30877.8 million  euro and  the  CIF imports amounted to 36715.5 million euro.

  • In the period 1.I?30.VI 2017, the FOB?CIF commercial deficit was of 5837.7 million euro, 1354.2 million euro more than in the period 1.I?30.VI 2016.

  • In June 2017, the FOB exports were of 5065.2 million euro and the CIF imports were of 6436.5 million euro, a commercial deficit of 1371.3 million euro being registered. ? Compared to June 2016, the exports increased by 2.5% and the imports increased by 14.2% in June 2017.

Romania has recorded a trade deficit in excess of 5.873 billion euros January through June this year, indicating an increase by almost 30 per cent compared with the same interval of last year, when the deficit stood at 4.483 billion euros, reads a Wednesday release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

"The trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) accounted for 5.837 billion euros in January 1 - June 30 2017, by 1.354 billion euros more than the value recorded in January 1- June 30 2016, in the context in which FOB exports accounted for 5.065 billion euros, CIF imports accounted for 6.436 billion euros, and the deficit resulting from here stood at 1.371 billion euros," reads the document. 

Compared with June 2016, exports in June 2017 climbed 2.5 per cent, with imports growing 14.2 per cent. 

According to INS, intra-EU28 trade in goods for January 1 - June 30 2017 stood at 23.478 billion euros in terms of shipping and 27.839 billion euros in terms of imports, representing 76 per cent of total exports and 75.8 per cent of total imports, respectively. 

Extra-EU28 trade in goods stood at 7.399 billion euros for exports and 8.875 billion euros for imports, for the January 1- June 30 2017 interval, representing 24 per cent of total exports and 24.2 per cent of total imports. 

"Important weights in the overall structure of exports and imports were held, in the interval January 1 - June 30 by: machinery and transport equipment (47.8 export and 37.5 imports) and other manufactured products (34 per cent exports and 30.7 per cent imports), reads the INS release.
