Finance Ministry attracts 350 million lei from banks, at a rate of 3.31% per year

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) borrowed 350.545 million lei from banks on Thursday, with am issue of treasury certificates with discount, due after 12 months, at an average rate of 3.31% per year, according to data issued by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

The nominal value of the Thursday issue was 300 million lei, and banks subscribed 543.839 million lei.

MFP planned in August 2018 loans of 2.83 billion lei from commercial banks, of which 2.5 billion lei through auctions of state bonds and treasury certificates, to which 330 million lei were added through additional sessions of non competitive offers, for bond auctions.

The amounts will be used to refinance public debt and finance state budget deficit. Compared to July, the loans scheduled by MFP are smaller by 130 million lei.
