ForMin Corlatean and Austrian Ambassador highlight the 'excellent' results of EU Strategy for Danube Region
Minister of Foreign Affairs Titus Corlatean during a meeting with the Austrian Ambassador in Bucharest Michael Schwarzinger highlighted 'the excellent' results of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, informs a release of MAE on Monday.
According to the abovementioned source, the two high officials reviewed the current stage of the bilateral relations between the two countries, with special emphasis on the excellent cooperation in the economic field as 'confirmed by the upward trend recorded in trade exchanges and also in the number of Romanian companies running on Austrian capital worth 5 billion euros in total.'
In this context, both sides agreed on the need to further encourage and promote economic cooperation, as well as on the need to further capitalise on the existing investment potential between the two countries.
Titus Corlatean appreciated the activity of the Austrian Ambassador in Romania and thanked him for his 'extremely important' contribution brought to the development of the 'excellent' relations existing between Romania and Austria. In his turn, the Austrian official thanked the Romanian authorities for their constant support during his mission in Bucharest.
'On the same occasion, Minister Corlatean and Ambassador Schwarzinger underlined the very good results obtained under the EU Strategy for the Danube Region and also mentioned both sides' determination proven in capitalising on the real potential of diversification of the Romanian-Austrian relations in other fields of a common interest as well, such as the cultural and scientific ones,' showed the release.
In other train of thoughts, the chief of the Romanian diplomacy addressed the invitation to his Austrian counterpart, Sebastian Kurz, to pay a visit to Bucharest.
On Monday, Foreign Affairs Minister Titus Corlatean received the farewell visit of Austrian Ambassador to Romania Michael Schwarzinger at the end of his tenure.
