Framework agreement between Romania's Gov't and Turkey's Gov't for cooperation in military field

 

The Minister of National Defense, Angel Tilvar, signed together with his Turkish counterpart, Yasar Guler, the Framework Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey in the military field.

According to a press release from the Defense Ministry (MApN) sent on Friday, the Agreement was initialed during the official visit paid by Angel Tilvar to Ankara, Republic of Turkey.

The agreement reflects the wish of the two sides to update the legal framework of cooperation, which will allow the expansion and deepening of relations in the field of defense, considering the growing dynamics of bilateral activities and the recent changes in the security environment, the quoted source mentioned.

"The agreement signed today [Friday] reflects the current level of military relations with Turkey, one of the most important strategic partners of Romania, especially in the context of the 100th anniversary of military and diplomatic relations between our countries", said the defense minister, quoted in the press release.

The Ministry of Defense informs that the program of the Romanian minister's visit included a round of official talks, a visit to the Defense Industry Agency and some facilities in the field, as well as laying of a wreath by the Romanian delegation at the Anitkabir Mausoleum, where Mustafa Kemal Ataturk rests.
