Gold reached a new historic maximum: 258.8486 lei/gramme


The gold gramme got more expensive on Wednesday by 2.69 lei ( 1.05%) up to a quotation of 258.8486 lei, from 256.1546 lei, as the BNR announced on Tuesday, with a new record value.

For the European currency, BNR showed on Wednesday a rate of 4.8342 lei for one euro, more by 0.07 bani against the quotation of 4.8335 lei for one euro, established in the previous meeting.

In exchange, the leu appreciated by comparison to the American dollar, the rate announced being 4,1151 lei, dropping by 0.38 bani (-0.09%) as compared to the value of Tuesday, 4.1189 lei for the American currency.

The leu lost ground against the Swiss franc, getting to a rate of 4.4925 lei with 1.06 bani over the rate of the previous meeting (0.23%) of 4.4819 lei for one franc.
