Government adopts emergency ordinance simplifying public procurement procedures
The Government on Wednesday adopted an emergency ordinance simplifying the public procurement procedures. "Another normative act draft, this time in the public procurement area, aimed at simplifying the procedures for conducting public procurements, particularly in the European funds area, meant to modify the legal framework on public procurement conduct. It is an emergency ordinance that was challenged with the Constitutional Court, because it imposed sanctions on judges in case they delayed the decision on some petitions regarding public procurement. This mention was declared unconstitutional, therefore in this Government meeting a new government emergency ordinance was adopted, eliminating this provision in order to be in line with the CCR ruling and establish simplified public procurement procedures, mainly in the European funds area," the Prime Minister's Chancellery head, Ionel Danca, said at the end of the Government meeting.
