Government starts working on 2016 budget law in August
The government will start working on the budget law for 2016 after the budget rectification at the end of July, in order to present the bill to international financial partners IMF and EC for approval, finance minister Eugen Teodorovici said.
“In August we will start working on the 2016 budget law, after rectifying the budget. In order to have it ready in October we must discuss it with out international partners. We told them we are open to discussion here in Bucharest or in Brussels. Our draft budget must be confirmed by international partners,”Teodorovici declared on Tuesday, after meeting the European commissioner for regional policies, Corina Cretu.
Teodorovici added he could not say whether IMF representatives would come to Bucharest until the conclusion of the accord in September, as it was up to IMF to decide.
“On July 14, at the meeting of finance ministers Ecofin, we will see the EC decision and then we will wait for the IMF decision. We must conclude what we have in the best conditions and then speak about another accord”, Teodorovici said.
