In the 1.I?31.VII.2016 period, industrial production increased by 0.6% as gross series compared to the 1.I?31.VII.2015 period and, as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, decreased by 0.1%.
The industrial output dropped as gross series by 3.4pct in July 2016 as compared to the same month of 2015 and remained even as series adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality, informs a Wednesday release by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Against July 2015, the industrial output decreased as gross series due to the drops in the three industrial sectors: extractive industry (-13.7pct), production & supply of electricity, gas, heat & air conditioning (-5.9pct) and the processing industry (-2.9pct).
The industrial output as series adjusted by number of working days & seasonality remained unchanged with the corresponding months of 2015, after the processing industry grew by 3.5pct, while the extractive industry and production & supply of electricity, gas, heat & air conditioning decreased by 13.8pct, and 5.9pct, respectively.
As compared to June 2016, the industrial output shrank by 1.4pct gross series as a result of the processing industry's diminishing (-1.8pct). The extractive industry and the production & supply of electricity, gas, heat & air conditioning went up by 4.0pct and 2.8pct, respectively.
As series adjusted by number of working days & seasonality, the industrial output grew by 0.7pct against the previous month, due to the increases recorded in the processing industry (+1pct) and the extractive industry (+0.9pct). The production & supply of electricity, gas, heat & air conditioning dropped by 2.5pct.
Aggregated on first seven months of 2016, the industrial output grew as gross series grew by 0.6pct, as an effect of the increase of the processing industry (+1.4pct). The extractive and production & supply of electricity, gas, heat & air conditioning the lowered by 18.9pct, 1.pct, respectively.
