Klaus Iohannis : the government should do their homework well if they want to relocate the European Medicines Agency

President Klaus Iohannis stated on Saturday before the reunion of the European Council in Brussels that he expected the government ‘ to do their homework well’ so that the European  Medicines Agency  be relocated from the UK to Romania following Brexit.

‘If as regards the agencies interested states must come with very concrete  offers and here I think we still have to work. Here the government must do their homework better. I evaluate that somewhere until the end of the year we will have the first conclusions for the relocation of the agencies. I even expect the government to do their homework, to offer a building, to propose financial conditions and so on, everything which is necessary to be a country attractive for an agency; stated Klaus Iohannis.

The Romanian government announced in March that they will file their mandate for hosting in Bucharest the European Medicines Agency and expressed their willingness to collaborate with the authorities to achieve this objective.
