Liberal Party members Iohannis, Nicolaescu, Busoi and Atanasiu designated as ministers
The Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Crin Antonescu on Friday has declared that Liberals Klaus Iohannis, Eugen Nicolaescu, Cristian Busoi and Teodor Atanasiu have been validated by the party's leadership to assume the ministerial positions at the ministries of Home Affairs, Finances, Health, and Economy, respectively.
'Following the resignations of our colleagues Daniel Chitoiu, Radu Stroe, Eugen Nicolaescu and Andrei Gerea, the [National Political Bureau of PNL] BPN has debated the proposals made, and voted the following nominations of PNL for this positions within the Government: Klaus Iohannis at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister; Eugen Nicolaescu at the [Ministry of] Public Finances; Teodor Atanasiu at the [Ministry of] Economy; and Cristian Busoi at the Ministry of Health,' Antonescu said.
Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Crin Antonescu said on Friday that he expects Klaus Iohannis, who is the Liberals' nomination for Vice-Premier and Minister of the Interior, to put the Government into better order and provide a powerful representation of the Liberals' stance in the Government.
'What I expect from Mr. Iohannis in this new capacity is better order in the Government and in the country, more civilization in the liberal sense, namely that the that institutions permanently work in the service of the citizens; I, and actually the entire party, are also waiting for a strong representation of the Liberal positions inside this Government,' Antonescu told a press conference after the meeting of the PNL Political Bureau.
He mentioned that another expectation of Klaus Iohannis in his new capacity refers to a better cooperation with Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
'We expect Mr. Iohannis, in his capacity as a Vice Premier, to ensure a better cooperation and a permanent dialogue with the Prime Minister inside a broad coalition Government, which from now on till 2016 has huge responsibilities to fulfill in Romania,' said the PNL chairman.
