MORE JOB VACANCIES IN THE SECOND QUARTER 2017

In the second quarter of 2017, the job vacancies rate1 was 1.33%, increasing by 0.02 percentage points as against the previous quarter.

The number of job vacancies was 64.1 thousand, increasing by 1.9 thousand as against the previous quarter.

By comparison with the same quarter of 2016, the job vacancies rate increased by 0.10 percentage points and the number of job vacancies increased by 7.0 thousand.
The number of job vacancies in Romania reached 64,125 in Q2 2017, up 1,905 as compared to Q1, and the highest rates of available jobs were registered in public administration (3.98 pct), according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Compared with the same quarter of 2016, the job vacancy rates increased by 0.10 percentage points, and the vacancies increased by 6.985.
According to INS, in Q2 2017 the highest vacancy rates were registered in public administration (3.98 pct), followed by health care and social work (3.11 pct). Approximately a quarter of the total number of vacancies (15,576 job vacancies) concentrated in manufacturing, and the rate was 1.31 pct.
The public sector accounted for almost 36 pct of the total number of vacancies. Thus, 10,639 vacancies are in the public administration, 10,241 in healthcare and social work, respectively 2,238 vacant places in the education system.
At the opposite end, the lowest rates and the lowest number of vacancies were found in the mining industries (0.18 pct and 93 vacancies, respectively).
