National unemployment rate down to 5.1 pct in November


- Unemployment rate in November 2020 decreased with 0.2 percentages points as compared to the previous month (5.3%).

- Men’s unemployment rate was higher than that of women with 0.5 percentages points.


Romania's seasonally adjusted national unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in November 2020, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous month's rate of 5.3 percent, according to data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The male unemployment rate was 0.5 percentage points higher than that of women.

According to the INS, the estimated number of unemployed (aged 15-74) for November 2020 was 462,000 people, down from the previous month (477,000 people), but up from the same month last year (361,000 people).

By gender, the male unemployment rate by 0.5 percentage points that of women (the respective values being 5.3 percent for males and 4.8 percent for females).

The estimated adult unemployment rate (aged 25-74), was 4.1 percent for November 2020 (4.3 percent for men and 3.9 percent for women).

The number of unemployed people aged 25-74 accounts for 75.8 percent of the total number of unemployed estimated for November 2020.
