The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Romania ( CCIFER ) , the Embassy of France to Romania and the Romanian Section of the Foreign Trade Advisors of France have presented a set of 29 proposals, gathered in the White Paper of Agriculture, set to lead to a modern and sustainable agriculture .

The work is the result of a public-private dialogue and wants to contribute to the development of the Romanian modern and sustainable agriculture. The 29 proposals are grouped into five key areas: public agricultural policies, taxation and finance, commercial law, social law and human resources and research.

' The White Paper aims to promote a performing land fund, a dynamic agricultural enterprise, an easy economic management, some accessible agri-food networks, a well trained and competitive labor force, an innovative and profitable research sector', said the President of CCIFER, Bruno Roche .

According to the Ambassador of France to Romania , the aim of this project is to contribute concretely to ideas and projects of reform meant to prepare the future of the Romanian agriculture .

Among the recommendations focused on the public agricultural policies there are: organizing merger of agricultural plots of land, implementation of a generalized agricultural cadastre, protection of agricultural land against an irreversible destruction, development of irrigation systems, encouragement of setting up forest belts, encouragement of mutual use of production means and integration of the agricultural output into networks, as well as simplifying the rules on traceability of agri-food products.

In turn, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Daniel Constantin , said that there are already many sectors of the Romanian agriculture noticeable at European and world levels, as the organic farming, the wine sector or beekeeping.

'The productive potential of our soil is however the main advantage for the development of Romanian agriculture', Constantin underlined,

The White Paper was launched in the framework of the 18th edition of the international fair Indagra and presented during an event held in the presence of authorities, companies in the field of agriculture and members of the agri-agro working group of CCIFER.
