"Platinum Eagle" annual training module taking place until May 28 at Babadag firing range

The "Platinum Eagle" annual training module of the "Black Sea Rotational Force 15" (BSRF-15) multinational exercise is running until May 28 at the Babadag firing range in Tulcea County.

According to a Defence Ministry release this Tuesday, the drill involves live fire training, parachute jump exercises, close air support, first aid in conflict areas and practicing subunit command and control procedures, as well as procedures for the use of anti-armor weapon systems.

A number of 750 servicemen of the 1st Mechanized Brigade "Argedava" and from naval and air forces support structures are training alongside Bulgarian troops and U.S. Marines deployed to Europe.

BSRF-15 is an annual exercise led by the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa, taking place in the Black Sea, the Balkans and the Caucasus. Its purpose is to increase the level of interoperability through joint training of the military personnel for the participation in peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations.
