PM Iurie Leanca starts today a working visit to Bucharest

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova's Government, Iurie Leanca will be paying a working visit to Bucharest on Monday, during which he will meet Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
The two prime ministers agreed to making the visit during a phone call, according to the Chisinau Government release.

Ponta informed his Moldovan counterpart that the Romanian Government will offer a 20 million euro grant for the development of pre-school education in Moldova, in a move of solidarity and support for the neighbouring country, the Moldovan executive announced.

The Romanian head of Government announced in the beginning of his Cabinet's meeting last week that Bucharest will assign 80 million lei for educational programmes conducted in the Republic of Moldova.

'We have some reserves for the end of the year set aside from the work of the people in Romania, from the efforts made by all ministers and thanks to the finances ministry's thriftiness, so that we can allot such reserves for what we have promised for many years and never have done: substantial and concrete support for the Republic of Moldova, 80 million lei, (...) for educational programmes, for the development of the (educational) network, infrastructure, for the Moldovan children's training', Ponta said.

Leanca: Traian Basescu’s statement about the union does not help us, on the contrary it creates only problems

Mr.Basescu’s statement does not help us, on the contrary it brings only problems. I welcome the statement of premier Ponta. I wouldn’t like to make divisions, separations. We need something else. We need a neighbouring country Romania. To have a reliable voice in the EU, to help us to achieve these objectives, to follow this European way. Following the European way does not mean losing your sovereignity, under any way of the state of the Republic of Moldova, but only the fact that we will be a functional state. There follows we anchor the Republic of Moldova in a space of prosperity, stability, a functional system, without borders, with common regulations. This is the most important objective of the government in Kishinev”Iulie Leanca said for National 4 TV.

We remind the fact that president Traian Basescu has recently stated that the next important project for Romania, after joining the NATO and the EU must be the union with the Republic of Moldova”.
