PM Ponta and EnerMin Nicolescu to attend listing of Electrica on the London Stock Exchange

Prime Minister Victor Ponta has stated that he will attend on Friday, together with Minister-Delegate for Energy Razvan Nicolescu, the listing of the Electrica company on the London Stock Exchange.

'I will go tomorrow for the second time in six months to open operations - I was invited, obviously - on the London Stock Exchange because, as six months ago the Romgaz listing was the largest listing in Romania's history, now Electrica is to become the largest listing', said Ponta in an interview granted to dcnews.ro.

He mentioned that he will go together with Nicolescu to London, 'to celebrate Electrica's success'.

'The London Stock Exchange is inviting a Romanian Prime Minister - that never happened before - to the largest listing, in the sense that some people from the private business medium came and said: 'we trust Romania, we will pay half a billion euro on one company, Electrica,' the Prime Minister added.

Ponta reminded that, in the case of the Electrica company, the oversubscription was of 200 percent.

'There were twice as many buyers than we needed', he added.
