Prime Minister Victor Ponta says he and visiting Prince Charles made a promotion of the Bucharest-based Museum of Art Collections, saying that the prince had an opportunity to see probably for the first time the masterpieces of some Romanian painters.

'I was very thankful to Prince Charles for having accepted my proposal. We had scheduled a meeting at the Victoria Government Palace, as in fact another one was scheduled for the Cotroceni Presidential Palace. I suggested to the staff of Prince Charles that we should not hold a traditional meeting at Victoria Palace, but take the opportunity of his presence in Romania to open together after very many years all the three wings of the building. By his presence, Prince Charles not only saw for the first time masterpieces of Romanian painters Grigorescu, Tonitza and Petrascu, but together we advertised the museum and I hope the starting tomorrow the number of visitors will increase because it has been a long time since the works of arts here could be seen,' said Ponta.
