Premier Victor Ponta announces he will make an official visit to Beijing at the end of August or beginning of September in order to unblock economic relations by political collaboration.

“In Beijing you need political collaboration to unblock economic collaboration,” Ponta said.

Deputy premier Liviu Dragnea who was in China in March had announced that premier Ponta would make an official visit in China in September.

“We talked about premier Victor Ponta’s visit to China which we will try to schedule for September. We decided that the visit will be one in which the two premiers, Victor Ponta and Li Keqiang, will find out that most of the accords signed in Bucharest in November have become concrete projects,” Dragnea said.

Romania and China signed in November collaboration accords to set up a technological park and resume the export of reproduction cattle and pork meat to China, as well as other collaboration documents in energy, in the nuclear and thermal-electric fields.

Official sources have recently declared for Mediafax Agency that ICR (Romanian Culture Institute) Beijing will be based in a mall when Chinese officials did not agree with headquarters in Romania’s Embassy in Beijing.

As a result they decided to rent some space in a mall where ICR will be close to the Hungarian Institute. In fact the two institutes intend to organize joint events for better promotion.

Sources showed that ICR Beijing will be inaugurated in September when premier Ponta might be present.
