Romania's President Traian Basescu appeals to all political leaders of Ukraine for calm, moderation, pragmatism and prudence, maximum availability to dialogue and flexibility to obtain a wider consensus absolutely necessary for the country's coming out of crisis, the domestic climate stabilisation and the economy recovery.
'Romania's President, Mr Traian Basescu, salutes the most recent evolutions of the profound domestic crisis Ukraine has gone through over the recent months. The cessation of violence, the relinquishment of forced and excessive repression of the protests of Ukrainian citizens are preconditions for coming back to a climate of tranquility, necessary for launching a wide political process of domestic stabilisation of the country. Mr President Traian Basescu appeals to all political leaders of Ukraine for calm, moderation, pragmatism and prudence, maximum availability to dialogue and flexibility to obtain a wider consensus, absolutely necessary for the country's coming out of crisis, the domestic climate stabilisation and the economy recovery. The abandonment of extremist or nationalistic hints or actions would also contribute to obtaining national consensus,' the Presidential Administration informs in a release remitted to Agerpres on Sunday.
The message of the Romanian chief of state concerning the situation in Ukraine shows that Romania, as neighbour state and as European Union and North-Atlantic Organization (NATO) member, supports the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which must be pursued and guaranteed by the entire Ukrainian political class and by the international community.
