President Iohannis welcomes COREPER approval of Romania's full Schengen admission starting Jan 2025

President Klaus Iohannis welcomes the approval by the Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union of Romania's full Schengen accession starting with January 1, 2025.

"An important moment today for Romania! The EU ambassadors have approved full accession to Schengen, land borders included, starting with January 1, 2025," the head of the state wrote on Wednesday on X.

The JHA Council in December will formalize this long- and legitimately awaited decision by all Romanian citizens, President Iohannis also noted
